Kuujjuuaq is a modern town found on the Koaksoak River. This river is created when the Larch and Caniapiscau River meets and it's located past the 57th parallel ,in permafrost country in Prime Caribou territory.

This town of about 2000 resident has full capacity Airport facility and is the lifeline of this region called NUNAVIK.




Since it's located on the Ungava Bay it joins the harshness on permafrost and the benefits of a short coastal summer making it the best Caribou haven in North America.
